La la la

I've been reading a few people's blogs tonight, because that's what I do in the library. They're all super serious (including mine). So, to break the intensity a little, I offer, for your reading pleasure, the first installment of a story I'm writing starting now.

now . . .
nnnnnnnow . . .
righhhhttttt Now.

Arthur Allen stepped off the train almost unconsciously. It was 9 am, and he was grumpy. He had just awoke from a nap. That was what he always did on his way to work. He was thinking about time. Particularly, time as it relates to naps. There is a very real law governing nap times. The formula goes something like this: (length of nap/previous fatigue)*fatigue at time of awakening=G. Of course G represents grumpiness. There are variables, such as sleeping position, and the travelling factor. Otherwise, the formula works like a charm. The only problem of course, is that no one quite knows how to measure fatigue. Or grumpiness for that matter. Scientists are working around the clock, or at least one would hope.

Arthur had no time to worry about scientific endeavours however. He was late. This fact didn't necessarily make him hurry. It only made him slightly more grumpy. Not a real issue though, since his job barely required consciousness. In fact, it barely required him to be there. He thought about this as he walked. His computer wouldn't miss him. Nor would his desk, or even his lamp. In fact, no one would miss him. "The world has enough data programmers," he thought. "I don't even really know what it is I do." The sad fact was, nobody really knew what it is Arthur does. He had been hustled down to a basement office and given some kind of project to make way for the new sports bar that was moving in to the ground floor of his office building. "Today," he thought, "I'm going to keep on walking."

Okay so I have to leave the library now. If anyone at all wants this story to continue, feel free to let me know.

later.
